The risk of updating a position

What is the risk associated with updating a position?

A position should only be updated if the settings and conditions were initially entered incorrectly or if you are certain that no manual adjustments, corrections, or changes have been made.

If you make changes to a position by updating it, there is a risk that the payment structure will be regenerated.

This means that all manual adjustments, changes, and corrections you made during events will be lost.

If you make changes that will regenerate the payment structure, a warning will be issued.

This means that loans that have been reconciled for calculations to be correct according to the invoice are at risk of becoming incorrect again and need to be reconciled once more.

The change you want to make to the position may possibly be resolved by, for example:

  • Extending the position instead of updating the end date
  • Incorporating interest or margin changes in events
