Is it possible to copy an existing portfolio to a new portfolio for use in simulation?
There is no direct button for "copy portfolio," but there is a solution that involves the following steps:
- Create a new portfolio, for example, Simulation.
- Export the portfolios that are relevant.
- Open the export file and:
- Remove the case numbers of the positions (Important!)
- Give them a new name/new reference
- Remove existing portfolios.
- Add the positions to the new portfolio.
- Mark the positions as fictitious.
- Import the file with the copied positions, which now have unique reference numbers, new names, and are in a separate portfolio.
Note! There is a risk of replacing the positions you import, overwriting existing ones if you do not remove existing case numbers. If you are not vigilant, we are happy to assist with the import part - contact support@nordkap.se for help.
Afterward, you will still have the original positions with their original names in the old portfolios. You will have a copy of the above but with changed names and in a new portfolio.
The slightly negative aspect of this solution is that "duplicates" of the positions are created, so they are not only in different portfolios. However, the positive aspect is that you can make adjustments and changes to the fictitious copies of individual positions that go into the fictitious portfolio.
